Re: Minutes for the June 13, 1997 R&B teleconference
A teleconference of the ICC LNP R&B committee was held on June 13 to discuss . Following is the status of each of the items discussed on the teleconference..
National R&B Committee
Each member of the Rating and Billing sub-committee has been asked to attend meeting/teleconferences of the National Billing Committee and participate in the evaluation process of this new committee. This item is currently pending as individual service providers evaluate the direction of the National Billing Committee versus the ICC R&B Sub-committee.
Please contact Marie Dunn, Pacific Bell, on (510) 823-7580 to become a member of the National Billing Committee and receive their agendas and meeting notifications. The next meeting of this group will be a face-to-face meeting in San Ramon, CA, June 17-19, 1997. A teleconference bridge will be provided on (888) 422-7105/Participant Code: 226-681.
California "Delta" Document
The attending service provider members of this teleconference have determined that none of the items on the California R&B sub-committees "Delta" document should be considered jeopardy items for Phase I implementation of LNP in Illinois. The attending switch vendors noted that they are working privately with their California customers to provide them with subsequent point releases/switch updates that will incorporate software fixes for the issues identified in California.
Attending R&B members agree with the assessment by the California R&B sub-committee that outstanding issues exist that have long-term impact on R&B in an LNP environment. Many of these issues have already been identified in the "future" requirements section of the Illinois Switching and Signaling Generic Requirements, Section 4.5. This sub-committee will again review the California "Delta" document for possible inclusion into our Phase II requirements as soon as the scope of that effort has been determined by the Illinois Steering Committee.
General Requirements Clarification - Items 1315 & 1320
Joe Lichter and Arnette Schultz, Lucent Technologies, have edited the Switching and Signaling Generic Requirements 1315 and 1320. These edits are simply a matter of clarification based on a discussion with the Ericcson development members. All R&B members should receive a fax copy of the edited requirements from Joe and/or Arnette. If you have not received a copy of the requirements, please contact Arnette on (630) 713-7437. Please pay careful attention to the dates by which comments should be returned to Lucent regarding the proposed clarification edits. In the event negative comments are received by Lucent, these will be discussed on the next R&B teleconference.
NXX-X/LRN Number Conservation
Brian Baldwin, chairperson of the NXX-X - LRN assessment team, made a request of all technical sub-committees asking that we assess the potential technical impact of this number conservation solution. Attending members of the R&B team have determined in a preliminary analysis that this solution should have no technical impact on deploying the LRN solution in Illinois based on the attached assumption set (Attachment I). However, the R&B committee reserves the right to make a final analysis of this methodology should it become the selected solution. In the event it becomes necessary to make a final analysis of this method, sub-committee members should be prepared to identify any R&B issues that are associated with this solution during the July teleconference.
Please note that R&B service provider members not in attendance (GTE, TCG, Time-Warner, and Worldcom-MFS) were called and asked to provide negative comments related to the above proposed response no later than close of business Wednesday, June 18, 1997.
