The following edited information has been provided by Brian Baldwin and Larry Vasquez as a starting point for discussion.

Assumption:

Pooling begins on 4/1/98

Testing would begin first week of April.

Assign blocks from an unused 847 NXX to different participating companies serving the same rate center.

Each company would pre-port the block via the NPAC process flows, and then activate one or two (test) numbers within their allocated blocks so that each carrier can complete some test calls. Some of the activities thatneed to be included is

  1. determining which switch will be involved in the test (one per carrier)
  2. when each block will be pre-ported
  3. assigning and activating a test number within each block that will receive calls
  4. deciding what actually will be tested
  5. deciding who will be the SPOC within each company and who will provide overall coordination.

A separate test plan will also need to be developed when/if the new NPAC pooling software (Release 1.4) becomes available. The NPAC Subcommittee will be asked to coordinate this effort

1) 847 Trial Test Example

* Porting A Block

* NPAC Time to Port a Block

* Download to SP's LSMSs

* Time to Update SPs STPs

* Each SP Should Act As A

* Code Holder

* Block Holder

(i.e. give up one block, receive one block)

* Port a Single Number

* Does this take 15 minutes?

* What if NPAC is porting a block?

* Port a Contaminated Block

* Code Holder perform an Intra-Service Provider Port

* Then a Thousands Block Port (do all SPs still see contaminated numbers still assigned to the code holder?)

* How Does The List OF Contaminated Numbers Get To The Block Holder

* Block Holders And Code Holders Should Try And Assign A Number That Is Not Theirs (i.e. Security)

* Check Snap Back To The Block Holder

* Block Reclamation Process For A Block Not Utilized
