ISSUE #:006a
DATE OPENED: 08/26/96
DESCRIPTION: Want to include the NPAC test plan as an appendix to this
test plan.
RESPONSIBILITY: Barry Bishop, Operations Team will contact Donna
Navickas, NPAC team
DATE DUE: 01/06/97
DATE CLOSED:
STATUS: Open
08/26/96 - New Item
08/30/96 - Walt Subora and Barry Bishop will be meeting with the NPAC
team on Sep. 10 and/or 11 to talk about testing, schedules, etc. Will
bring back to this team.
12/11/96 - Discussion of how NPAC would be incorporated.
Most NPAC test plans are currently proprietary. Since they can't be
incorporated in the public test plan, a characterization of the coverage
is necessary in the master test plan, to show that it has been covered.
Sect 4.2.4 of test plan will have a matrix or summary which
characterizes the coverage. Then, at the conclusion of testing,
Lockheed would have to provide documentation of the test results.
01/09/97 - Lockheed will provide the final Turnup Test plan for the
addendum after it is final.
02/13/97 - NPAC committee is formally constructing this test plan and we
will get an update at the next meeting.
04/08/97 - Plan is just about complete. Submit section under final
review. Will get a status after next NPAC meeting. Perhaps a draft
tomorrow.
06/12/97 - Walt will be going to next week s NPAC meeting. He hopes to
get a response then.
07/10/97 - The NPAC committee is still trying to get the testing done
and has not provided a write up for us. Walt Subora will send a letter
to Donna Navickas, NPAC chair, to ask for an expedited description for
inclusion in the test plan.
07/24/97 - Walt sent an e-mail to Donna Navickas, NPAC chair, asking for
an update to the test descriptions submitted in Dec, 1996 for inclusion
in the test plan (sect 4.2). If they feel it is OK as written, we will
close this issue, if they want to update, they will have until end of
August, 1997 or we will close and publish with what we have.
07/31/97 - Update - A new section was sent by Steve Markowski, Lockheed
Martin, for inclusion in the section. Bill Belshaw will include in issue
1.6.

ISSUE #:024
DATE OPENED: 12/06/96
DESCRIPTION: Test team needs to determine failure scenario testing. IITP
tests will use a lab environment to run a broad range of failure
scenarios. How would this complement our efforts.
RESPONSIBILITY: : Team
DATE DUE: 02/11/97
DATE CLOSED:
STATUS: Open
12/06/96 - Walt will put on agenda for Dec. 11 meeting.
01/09/97 - Looping tests will be added to this section. Need to
investigate other scripts. Will see what NIIF (old IITP) can do that
will give confidence in June/July time frame.
03/11/97 - Joint meeting with SCP team on 04/08. Will try to cover
during this meeting.
04/08/97 - SCP team will submit to us some test scripts and Walt will
submit to NIIF/NT testing committee for inclusion.
05/15/97 - no change in status, although Walt gave an update on what the
NTC is looking at. He also highlighted some comparatively simple tests
in his lab and saw extensive looping. The currently implemented standard
is based on the XUDT message counts, which are not supported by anyone,
all use UDT messaging.
06/12/97 - Failure scenario testing - to be discussed during FCC
Guidance discussion.
07/10/97 - Joe Questore, Bellcore, coordinator for the NIIF NTC (nee
IITP) states that the are looking to do these kinds of tests in a
controlled test environment. They have developed test scripts for the
failure scenarios. Walt Subora will write a liaison letter to the NIIF
NTC to ask for the scripts or a write up on the test scripts for each of
the failure areas of interest to the FCC. The www.atis.org web site has
the documents, etc. for the Network Test Committee. See June meeting
minutes for what will be tested.
07/24/97 - Walt Subora still working on liaison letter to the NTC.

ISSUE #:034
DATE OPENED: 01/08/97
DESCRIPTION: Put picture reference in for each test case. And if no
picture available, draw new one. Submit to Mr. Bill by close of business
on Jan. 15, 1997. Policy is to submit reference or draw new picture when
submit test cases.
RESPONSIBILITY: ALL
DATE DUE: 01/15/97
DATE CLOSED:
STATUS: Open
01/09/97 - New item.
02/13/97 - Still waiting for some of the drawings (Mack Dobkins - ISDN,
Andy Chalk - non-conforming end office, Nancy DeRoo - 911).
03/11/97 - Walt has been able to convert Nancy DeRoo s 911 drawings and
will send them to Bill.
04/08/97 - Nancy s drawings have been given to Bill, along with the test
scripts. They are also on ported.com under the 911 area.
05/15/97 - Walt suggested closing this issue and leave it to those
running ISDN tests to draw out for their own purposes. Will leave open
until the June meeting.
06/12/97 - The only area of concern is with ISDN. Because only Ameritech
(and perhaps Sprint) wants to test ISDN, it may not be a major concern.
Walt was planning to publish (via conference call) the tests that will
be run. This will close after the walk through of the ISDN scripts.
07/10/97 - ISDN test scripts to be discussed on 7/24 call.
07/24/97 - Only TCG and Ameritech will be running these tests. Walt will
make a proposal, with picture references for presentation to the
committee on August 22, 1997.

July 24 ICC/Midwest Test Team conference call minutes
(Updated 08/05/97)
Thanks Barry Lewin, Bellcore for the minutes.
Attendees:
Carmen Colella, AIT
Robin Meier, AIT
Dick Dowd, LLC
Barry Lewin, Bellcore
Mitch Fuchs, AT&T
Rajeev Trika, TCG
Gene Johnston, GTE
Meeting began at 1:10 PM.
1. Robin Meier s issue - Turn over of test plan to (NIIF) Network
Interconnection Integration Committee NIMC Committee (Network
Installation and Management Committee) as of such-and-such a date and
Robin will present at the next meeting. Walt was hoping all changes
would be complete by mid-September and the plan could be submitted in
October. The cover letter to them needs to state the expectation that
the NIIF will be the keeper of it. Walt and Bill Belshaw will pull
together the draft of the letter. Address letter to Allan Jones. ACTION
ITEM FOR WALT AND BILL (AI-49).
2. Review of the SCP test scripts. Comments thus far: Bill Belshaw
wanted a better GR reference and Walt has updated and provided detail on
the reference. Walt will take the an ACTION ITEM (AI-50) back to Bill
Belshaw to work through the references. He will bring it back to the
committee as a whole at the next meeting. In the text scripts Walt
focused on overload testing and protocol errors. Walt asked that
everyone look over the scripts before the meeting. Bill will add these
to Issue 1.6 of the test plan. Relative to picture references, Walt is
working on them.
3. Issues around ISDN. Walt proposed (and group agreed) that the ISDN
test participants will work off-line to do a cut-down of the ISDN tests.
Walt will work with Rajeev off-line to do the selection and report back
to the Committee at the next meeting.
4. Review of Action Items:
Action Item 6 - closed based on what has been received from Steve
Markowski, Lockheed Martin
Issue 18 - closed last time.
Issue 24 - failure scenario testing - Walt is working on a liaison
letter with Joe Questore, Bellcore, to NIIF Network Testing Committee
(NTC) saying we want to reference their test plan.
Issue 25 - LEC-to-LEC interface test - Bill prepared scripts for this
(see Section 4.3)
Issue 26 - closed last time
Issue 28 - closed last time
Issue 30 - closed last time
Issue 32 - closed last time
Issue 34 - Walt suggested cutting ISDN down to make it a manageable set
for creating picture references.
Issue 47 - closed last time.
Issue 49 and Issue 50 opened this time
Final discussion - top priority should be to close out the test plan and
turn it over to the NIIF. There was concern expressed as to who should
be the keeper of these plans on a going-forward basis.
Walt will send out an e-mail proposing that the August 22 meeting be
turned into a conference call not to exceed 3 hours.
