Meeting start at 08:30:
1) Overall Test Plan status
A. Bill stated that test plan was nearing completion.
Schedule:
- Looking to have final draft by 12/09.
- overnight to Walt for distribution at meeting
- overnight to Barry Bishop for inclusion on 'www.ported.com'
- final review at 12/11 meeting, note changes which need to be made.
- get changes to Bill by 12/24/96
- Bill to have official Issue 1 on web/disks by 01/03/97
- all changes after this done by change control mechanism - to be
discussed at 12/11 meeting.
B. Test Plan issues:
Bill asked what version of AT&T submissions to use for draft. Walt
suggests for 12/11 to pick shorter list of tests from Mitch and OC.
Requested concurrence from the group. No objections.
Bill asks how non-conforming offices will be handled?
-Discussion at 12/11 meeting.
Bill: What about feature section in general?
- Ameritech does not want to remove it, particularly CLASS,
calling name, and LIDB.
- Not sure whether simple station features, e.g CFV, should
be added. Will attempt to come to concensus by the end of
this call.
Bill will overnight materials to Walt early next week for the draft 1;
Walt will bring copies to 12/11 meeting, and attempt to get stuff up on
the web site in time for folks to retrieve it.
2) Additional test cases for test plan
ISDN test plan from US West will be incorporated into Bill's test plan.
Nancy DeRoo asked to add no-ANI 911 call situation, especially when the
call ports across 911-service provider boundaries (Centel vs.
Ameritech).
Bill will put materials up on MCI web site and notify Walt/Barry. Barry
will send an email alert to the team, after he gets a mailing list.
(Walt)
Need to complete 911 trunk groups between Centel and Ameritech, Nancy
DeRoo to call Andy Chalk.
Bill will use the short list from AT&T, plus existing feature tests,
plus operator service tests. Final copy to everybody by 1/2, for review
by the 1/8 meeting.
See overall project time line, under operations section of Barry's web
site. It's in both MS Project file format and a flat format.
Walt has assembled the time line from the last meeting; he will send it
out by email today.
3) Operational Flow test cases
Carmen Colella, Ameritech, reviewed AT&T operator services proposal:
- pretty complete, good for a guideline for each company.
- Notes that not all features (e.g. launch LRN query on orig number)
will work on every network.
- Other tests won't touch ALEC operator service system.
- Asks whether more detail should be added.
- billing number ported, remaining in incumbent LIDB or not.
- call-setup delay.
- tests to each LIDB that could have a ported number.
Carmen is assembling a matrix of orig number, called number, billing
number for review at meeting. Bill offers to add it to the matrix
section of the test plan.
Section discusses branding of calls: should that be here? Implies some
features which are not planned. Walt will put on agenda for 12/11.
4) Other Issues:
Failure scenarios: what do we have? We have assumed that each provider
is doing failure-scenario testing. Particular issue: IITP tests will
use a lab environment to run a broad range of failure scenarios. Elena
Morris represents Ameritech. Ideas could flow from this team to IITP to
address failures.
** Walt will put this discussion topic on agenda for 12/11.
Bill mentioned a California test plan which is now starting up.
Has any work been done in anticipation of FCC approval of QOR?
- Walt says no contingency plan now.
- Could probably not be deployed in time for this test period,
might or might not be mandatory, anyway.
- Big change in how failure scenarios work.
OC asks about ACG tests requiring a load generator. Is that real for
this live network? Can't reasonably put gaps on live calls, needs to be
discussed in more detail in implementation meeting. Could use manual
originations or autodialer calls, instead.
LEC-to-LEC EDI interface tests are still not covered. Test scripts are
needed for process flows. Depends on getting better descriptions of the
process flows that will be used. Will definitely test whatever the
final flows are.
When putting tests together, need to give references to the charts which
describe call flows.
Choke network tests: will have a choke network, but won't have
agreement on methods until late January. Must leave a placeholder for
now.
Big motivation for getting Issue 1 done is to get on change control as
soon as possible.
** Bill needs email addresses of team members and other key players.
Everybody bring those on 12/11.
